Advisory Board

Tavari Brown, Ph.D, MPH, LAPC, NCC - Member

Dr. Tavari Brown has a doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from Mercer University in Atlanta. She completed her master's degree in professional counseling at Georgia State University, a master's in public health from New York University with a focus in Community Health Education, and a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of California at Berkeley. Tavari manages a comprehensive cancer wellness program in the Atlanta metropolitan area. Her former position as a Public Health Advisor for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) afforded her the opportunity to develop, manage, and evaluate malaria prevention programs in sub-Saharan Africa. Her previous work experience includes HIV counseling, education, and research. She holds an American Red Cross Training of Trainers certification in HIV prevention and education. She specializes in facilitating and developing modules for dealing with health related concerns. Areas of interest include psychotherapy, psycho-oncology, stress, coping, post-traumatic growth, and the role of social support in healing and end of life issues. 

Niasha Fray, MS (Ph.D Candidate) - Member

Mrs. Niasha Fray (formerly Brown) is a proud native of North Carolina with an academic background in Clinical Psychology and Public Health. She has works on research that involves health promotion and behavior change of at-risk populations including those affected by substance abuse, incarceration, HIV/AIDS, and Cancer. Niasha has also served as a counselor delivering Motivational Interviewing risk reduction counseling for people working to overcome addiction, disruptive behavior disorders, and people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. She has developed and provided a variety of community-based professional trainings among health care providers throughout North Carolina and internationally on HIV education, prevention, and risk reduction. She has also provided support to community-based agencies through outreach, education, post-test counseling, and capacity-building for local and regional health departments. Currently she is a Doctoral Student at University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill Gillings School of Public Health and her primary research interests are: (1) Health Equity Advocacy and Quality, (2) Patient Provider Communication; (3) Medical Mistrust; and (4) Minority Health Disparities​

Duane Wade, MS - Member

Duane Wade is an independent business consultant and executive coach who has worked worldwide providing services to clients. Duane has recently partnered with Grace Ministries and the Chattanooga Counseling & Mediation Center to expand their services – leadership development, executive coaching, life coaching, personal re-invention and spiritual guidance. His most recent focus has included: executive coaching, creative strategic thinking, quantum leap thinking change management, organization development, team effectiveness and diversity. 

Additionally, he consults on board development and growing a business to the next level. Duane has worked internally and externally as a consultant, including work with several Fortune 500 organizations. He has worked in various industries – pharmaceutical, insurance, healthcare, hospitality, banking, legal, entertainment, education and has extensive non-profit experience. 

Duane’s executive coaching practice focuses on executives who represent all levels of leadership, including CEO’s. He also provides services for executive couples where each spouse or partner is an executive. Duane coaches a number of other executive coaches and is a member of the International Coaching Federation. He applies the ICF ethical guidelines to his work with clients. 

His approach to coaching is customized to each client’s needs - defining the issues and creating a plan based on each client’s unique needs, learning style and business imperatives. Duane has owned three businesses so he understands business pressures and deliverables that must be balanced with an ongoing need to improve leadership skills. He also has worked in a global organization at the executive level. Duane continues to have a roster of clients for whom he provides organizing services, at the personal and professional level. 

His work internationally has also enabled him to increase the creativity with which he offers services that require a particular cultural fit. Duane’s clients have included Booz-Allen-Hamilton, McKinsey & Company, CIGNA, Wachovia, Baldwin Preparatory School, SmithKline Beecham, Expedia Inc., Hotels.Com, HotWire, Prime Therapeutics, M & T Bank, Visiting Nurse Service of New York, Gregory B. Davis Foundation, Birmingham AIDS Outreach, Alabama Faith Council, and Aramark, as well as a number of individual clients. 

Duane is a member of the board of Chattanooga’s Kids on the Block and is the founder of The Junior Board! (kids ages 10-12) that supports the greater mission of the adult board. He also serves in an advisory capacity to the board of the South Broad Redevelopment Project in Chattanooga. Additionally, he is an advisory board member of the Gregory B. Davis Foundation. Duane is currently on the board and helping build the board for a new non-profit called Welcome Home of Chattanooga. Ultimately it will be a residence for homeless people who need end-of-life care. 

Duane has a Master’s degree in Human Development and Family Therapy. He is also a certified Organization Development Consultant. He is a life-long learner who brings his passion effectively to guide his clients. 

Audrey Hardy, MSN, RN, - Member

Audrey Hardy has over 30 years of experience as a licensed Registered Nurse and ten years of experience as a Nursing Instructor in the State of North Carolina. She has worked as an Occupational Health Nurse, Nurse Supervisor and Staff Nurse. Currently, she works as a Staff Educator and Community Health Initiative Coordinator at the Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids, NC. Audrey provides staff education and facilitates and provides health and wellness community outreach in her role. Ms. Hardy is very active both in professional organizations including the American Nurses Association, the North Carolina Nurses Association, North Carolina A & T State University Nursing Alumni, serves as an Advisory Board Member for the Medical Office Systems program for Halifax Community College. She truly demonstrates her love for community involvement as an active member of Roanoke Chapel Baptist Church where she is a member of the Deaconess Board, Choir President, Youth Advisor, and member of the Women’s Lift Ministry. She also serves as the Co-Chair of Garysburg Area Wide-Health Committee, serves on Hannah’s Place Domestic Violence Shelter Board of Directors and is a former Garysburg Town Commissioner. Ms. Hardy received her Bachelors of Nursing Degree from A&T State University in Greensboro, North Carolina and Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix. She also enjoys reading, gardening, and sports. She is the proud mother of two sons, in addition to three grandchildren.  this item about? What makes it interesting?
